How to prepare your cacao

For Ceremony be certain to use enough cacao per serving in order to be feel the effects. We recommend between one and two ounces (28-45grams) of pure cacao per person. Too little and the benefits will be too weak to notice. Too much, on the other hand, can be unpleasant. For most people between one and two ounces (35 grams) is appropriate. Start with the lowest dose and feel how this works for you.

For daily use we recommend about 15- 20 grams (2 tablespoons).

How to Preapare:

  • Chop cacao into small pieces.

  • Pour into a cup of hot water, just bellow boiling. (Do not use boiling temperature as it will take away the properties).

  • You can also replace water with your favorite plant based milk. (Oatmilk, soymilk...)

  • Optional: add your favorite sweetener ( Honey, agabe...) cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, cayenne pepper, a pinch of salt.

  • Take a moment to enjoy it !

Create a Sacred Space:

Create an appropriate setting for your experience. For example, if you want to use cacao to accompany your meditation, stillness or embodiment practices, set that intention beforehand. Take a momnet to breathe and pause. Contemplate the moment. Use candles, incense, music, silence or whatever supports you in this setting.

Drink enough water during and after the ceremony.

Cacao can stimulate detoxification. That’s a good thing. But you need to make sure you drink enough water. Signs of dehydration can include headache and nausea. You can easily avoid these problems by staying hydrated.
